Friday, October 8, 2010 Presenters: HOSA Board & Friends 9:00 a.m. to noon (8:00 to 9:00 a.m. - PDERI Keynote Speaker) Multi-cultural Celebrations: Asian and Pacific songs and dances for children! Presenter: Jolene Kim 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Through the Orff process, explore rhythm and improvisation with innovative elementary level activities that incorporate singing, movement, and instrument playing. Saturday, October 9, 2010 Presenter: Kumu Hula Pamai Tenn 9:00 a.m. to noon (8:00 to 9:00 a.m. - PDERI Keynote Speaker) Learn hula basics and a do-able hula to teach your students. Bring an 'ukulele. Presenter: Dreena Kane 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Bring an ‘ukulele and kanikapila! Work on your playing skills while learning new mele to share with your students. Saturday, February 26, 2011 Presenter: Konnie Saliba 9:00 a.m. to noon, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. (8:00 to 9:00 a.m. - PDERI Keynote Speaker, 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. - PDERI portfolio sharing) Solid ideas for music lessons with clearly defined objectives, that address the National Standards through singing, body rhythms, rhythmic reading, moving and playing instruments.
