Notes from October
Shared by Karen Drozd:
Move for 8 beats and stop for 8 beats using a new movement each time. After several examples, go around the circle and have students become the leader creating new 8 beat movements. With older grades, have them call out the type of note they are demonstrating in their movement (e.g., whole note might be to swing arms left to right taking four beats to execute)
The Samoan Talofa song will be repeated for the February workshop and Karen will give notes then.

In circle formation, knees practically touching. Cups are upside down. They are tapped on the floor on the Left, Right and Passing taps, but are raised in the air and tapped on their bottoms on the Tap-Tap parts. Basic Left and Right taps are quarter notes on the beats and the last Right-Tap-Taps are eighth-eighth quarter.
Down-up = tap the floor with the cup, then raise the cup and tap the bottom of the cup (eighth notes)
Pass to the right = tap the floor w/ the cup, eighth-eighth quarter, passing the cup to the right. Grab your "new" cup quickly!
